Rosedale Offerings

“But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.” Psalms 34:22

We serve our community in many ways!

Harvest Home Offering – September – The collection is given to the Greater Berks Food Bank.

CROP Walk – October – 25% of the collection goes to the local food bank and the remainder goes towards the fight on world hunger.

Thanksgiving Community Service – November – Rosedale and Calvary Lutheran Church in Laureldale rotate every other year.  The Adult choirs combine for this service and the  loose offering is given to the Muhlenberg Food Pantry.  We have also given to the Reading Emergency Shelter (now the Horizon Center) in Reading.

Angel Tree – December – The Angel Tree items at Christmas were collected for the Animal Rescue League.  The tree was decked out with pictures of cats and dogs with items needed. This was very popular this year!

Giving Tree – December – The Giving Tree Gifts at Christmas were given to Muhlenberg Elementary School. We collected leggings and pants.

Christmas Caroling to the Homebound – December – Each year we visit some of the congregation members that are homebound to spread a bit of Christmas cheer. Anyone in the congregation is welcome to join us!  It’s a very special evening for all who participate.

Souper Sunday Collection for Greater Food Bank – February – We call this “Souper Bowl Sunday”. We collect soup and dollars for the Greater Berks Food Bank and the Muhlenberg Pantry.

Muhlenberg Churches Food Pantry Residents in need living in the 19605 and 19560 zip code areas are welcome to visit this food pantry on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 4:00-6:00PM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Muhlenberg.

Jared Boxes – February and March – The goal of the Jared Box Project is to lift the spirits of children in the hospital. The boxes symbolize the importance of play and are filled with well wishes, hope, and love. Over 200,000 Jared Boxes have been delivered across the United States. A Jared Box is a plastic storage box filled with small gifts, toys, games, and fun activities. Each box contains items selected for a specific age and gender. The boxes are delivered to hospitals. Jared Boxes provide a special diversion for young patients in emergency rooms, patient rooms, surgical centers, and clinics as they receive chemotherapy and other medical treatments.
